Sir, I told you yesterday that I would write you, very willingly, the principles, on which I stand. The sincere desire of helping my country conscionciously has pointed out to me these principles. 1. I declare that I am loyal to the Crown of England. 2. I declare that I am thankful to the Honorable Hudson Bay Company for what protection she has given to us by her government, whatever might [...]a the nature of that government. 3. As the Honorable Hudson Bay Company is now retiring from the government of this country, I declare that I am ready to go through that change. 4. Being established, working and living on these lands settled by himself, the people of Red River the people.
